Laura was born and raised in Travis Peak. She graduated from Marble Falls and followed in the footsteps of her brother and sister starting a degree at Abilene Christian University. Although she didn't finish and turned to beauty school instead.
After her time in Abilene, Laura worked in a hair salon in Lago Vista where she met her husband of 26 years. They had 2 boys that they raised in the Travis Peak area. Laura loved her family; her life was dedicated to them. She took her boys to school everyday, to activities throughout the week and to church every time the doors were open. Laura was a shining light in her community. Listening to stories people tell of her lets you know that she was loved because she loved others.
The last two years of Laura's life was spent battling cancer. She fought relentlessly, clinging to her faith in the Lord to pull her through. She knew that God could heal her and believed deeply that He would. And He did. He healed her instantly on September 9th at midnight. Some may think that isn't true, but if you asked her, she would tell you that God is faithful and He completes His promises.
